The Earthquake Research Institute (ERI) at the University of Tokyo was founded in 1925, following the Great Kantō Earthquake of 1923. Building on a memorandum of understanding signed with IPGP in 2001, the two institutes have since organized biannual workshops, held alternately in Tokyo and Paris. This long-standing collaboration has fostered a continuous exchange of researchers and students, resulting in approximately twenty joint publications each year. This ninth edition of the workshop will take place in Tokyo. The present site is primarily intended to manage abstract submissions from the Paris-based participants. Given the high level of expected interest, the number of participants may need to be limited. We therefore ask applicants to clearly describe their motivation, their current or potential collaborations with ERI researchers, and the availability of financial support from their own projects. Submissions will be reviewed by the convenors and organizing committee (Fidel Costa, Éric van Hullebusch, Nobuaki Fuji). Three main scientific sessions have been identified in collaboration with ERI: * AI, innovative instrumentation, and methodology (Charles Le Losq / Yuji Itoh) * Earth and planetary interiors (Taichi Kawamura / Kiwamu Nishida) * Natural hazards (Nathalie Feuillet / Mie Ichihara) Please note that this call is open to IPGP staff only."
